In the air filter housing, in addition to the air filter element, there is also this air filter just in front of the opening where the air hose connects.

In other words, this filter is the last line of defense before the intake air enters the engine.

So replace it with a clean one at a major service so that the engine stays clean and performs optimally.

Remember to soak the filter in oil before installation, then carefully squeeze out the excess oil and only then install it.

To prevent all the junk, sand or worse from getting into the variator and the rest of the crankcase, the air sucked in, to cool the variator, must be filtered.

That's what this filter is for, replace it at every major service. Then everything stays clean and performs well, and you have less wear and tear.

Before installation, soak briefly in engine oil, squeeze gently so no oil drips out after installation, then install.
